In the last week, the news has forgotten about Russia and now seems to be focusing on the issue with North Korea, or is it an issue? Kim Jung Un has been threatening the United States for years. Trump issued a warning towards Kim Jung Un, they will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen. Trumps speech is quite reminiscent of Trumans words...

School Board Removes Lynch From The Name Of Three Schools Because It Was Deemed Offensive "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

noose

Every time that the absurdity of political correctness reaches a new peak in our culture, its easy to assume that it cant get any worse. But if weve learned anything over the past few years, its that it can always get worse. For people who have their entire identity wrapped up in being oppressed and downtrodden, the limit to what they can be offended by is absolutely bottomless. Which is why it shouldnt come as a surprise that a school board in Oregon recently voted to remove the name Lynch from several elementary schools. You can probably guess why.

Lynch Meadows Elementary, Lynch Woods Elementary and Lynch View Elementary were all named after a local family who donated land to the school district in the late 1800s.

In recent years, school officials say they have received complaints from people who are concerned about the names connotation with lynching.

There were an increasing amount of questions and some complaints from families of color around the name, Centennial School District Superintendent Paul Coakley, who is black, told the Oregonian.

Our diversity is increasing every year, with families coming in from Northeast Portland and out of state, so [the names] needed to be looked at, he added.

The fact that Lynch is an actual surname held by perhaps tens of thousands of people and has been around for hundreds of years, was of no consequence to the perpetually offended people who wanted these schools to change their names.

I dont think any of you have ever seen a picture where one of your decedents was hanging from a tree, said one man who testified in favor of the name change.

I know the majority of you guys are white and its hard to know how that word could have an effect but it does, added a young student who testified. If a simple name change...

As Only the Irish Can Tell A Story "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Paddy had long heard the stories of an amazing family tradition.

It seems that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all been able to walk on water on their 18th birthday. On that special day, they'd each walked across the lake to the pub on the far side for their first legal drink.

So when Paddy's 18th birthday came around, he and his pal Jim took a boat out to the middle of the lake, Paddy, stepped out of the boat... And nearly drowned!

Jim just barely managed to pull him to...

Black Sky Event : Feds Preparing For Widespread Power Outages Across U.S.
By Paul Joseph Watson

Federal government agencies are preparing for the possibility of widespread power outages across the U.S. as a result of a black sky event that could bring society to its knees.

An exercise sponsored by FEMA and the U.S. Department of Energy set to take place on August 23 called EarthEX2017 will wargame responses to catastrophes such as mega earthquakes, cyber terrorism or high altitude electromagnetic pulse attacks.

The exercise will simulate a subcontinent-scale, long duration power outage, with cascading failures of all other infrastructures, according to the official Earth Ex website.

Black sky events are defined as, Catastrophic occurrences caused by man or nature that bring society to its knees.

Cars would have no fuel. Restaurants and grocery stores would be bare. Electricity could be out for months in such an event, writes Mike Vasilinda.

Given the soaring tensions between the United States and North Korea, which has threatened to attack the U.S. territory of Guam, the timing of the EarthEX2017 exercise couldnt be more appropriate.

According to former Florida Congresswoman Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda, North Koreas saber rattling is making top brass anxious about potential society-changing disasters.

Its not if but when a Black Sky event will occur, writes Vasilinda, an alarming statement given that she discusses meeting with members of the U.S. military, National Guard Adjutant Generals, officials from Homeland Security, Dep...

Similar To Morphine: The Weed Every Prepper Should Know About "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

wild-lettuce

During a SHTF situation, pain could become an annoyance for some, but unbearable for others. If doctors are scarce and medicine becomes even scarcer, this one little weed, found all over North America and similar to morphine, could be a saving grace.

Lactuca Virosa is the scientific term for the morphine-like plant, and many people have used it in place of addictive prescription pain medication, like opioids. The plant is called wild lettuce, and its fairly abundant. Known as a weed to most, it gets plucked from lawns and tossed in compost piles, but its important to know what it can do, and how safe it actually is.

Wild lettuce is a leafy and tall plant, with small yellow buds, and could be growing right outside your door. More commonly found in North America and England, its a cousin to the lettuce we typically see at the grocery store. Its also referred to as bitter lettuce, or more appropriately for the purpose discussed here, opium lettuce.

There is actually no opium in the plant, according to WebMD. But wild lettuce gets its nickname opium lettuce from the pain relieving and sedative effects of a white substance produced in the stems and leaves of the plant.

opium-lettuce

Ask A Prepper detailed the historical uses of wild lettuce:

Back in the 19th century, wild lettuce was already being used by some as a substitute to opium. But, it was in the 70s that it started to gain significant popularity by those wanting a more natural remedy. Individuals were starting to use it for both pain relief, as well as recreational purp...

How To Recognize And Use Mushrooms For Food And Fire "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Many people that find themselves in the woods with no edible resources other than mushrooms may be tempted to give them a try. Its not easy to know exactly which species of mushroom is safe to eat, and which ones can kill you. Making a mistake can kill you, so you really have to know what youre doing.

On the other hand, you wont be hurt if you burn the wrong type of mushroom, but knowing what to choose to start a fire will help you for sure.

Take a moment and get a few tips on how to recognize and use this natural resource for food and fire!

General Characteristics of Most Poisonous Mushrooms

Simply assuming that mushrooms eaten by animals will also be edible to humans is a mistake. Consider that humans can consume chocolate with absolutely no ill effect (and may even consider chocolate medicinal and downright miraculously curative), yet dogs can die if they eat even small amounts of chocolate. By the same token, animals can eat mushrooms that have chemicals in them that are poisonous to humans.

Here are some general guidelines you can use to avoid many mushrooms that are poisonous to humans:

  • Avoid mushrooms that are red colored or have red on them. These mushrooms are like many other living things in nature. Their bright colors are meant as a warning to stay away from them.
  • Some white or dull colored mushrooms are also some of the most deadly. Mushrooms with a bulbous base, or a skirt around the stem can also be poisonous. You should also avoid mushrooms with white gills.
  • If you touch the gills on a Milkcap mushroom, it will emit liquid or milk. Even though some mushrooms in this family are safe to eat, most are toxic. It is best to avoid all of them until you know which ones are safe and which ones arent in the area you are traveling through.

If you have ever tried to survive on foods gathered from nature, then you know that experimenting with unknown food types is vital. With the exception of mushrooms, you can use the Universal Edibility Test to determine if the item is safe to eat.

The poisons some mushrooms house can take days, or even weeks to kill. Some poisons may slowly attack and destroy your liver, while others will cause toxic, and eventually fatal buildups in other organs. Other mushrooms cause hallucinations, which can lead to accidents, injury, and death. Since just one bite of a poisonous mushroom can get you killed, you just cant rely on these tests to evaluate them as a food source.

New Mexico Man Found Crucified To A Tree "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

tree

The disturbing video of a New Mexico man being rescued after being nailed to a tree is difficult to watch.  The man was discovered crucified to the tree after a city worker heard his groans for help.

The worker said he was a little concerned at the sight, so he decided to call the police for help not knowing what else to do. He kept yelling, Help. Help, and so I came and I saw him and I kind of freaked out because I didnt know if there was any other guys around, the city worker told police.

Once a police officer was finally able to locate the crucified man, identified as Jose Duran in a wooded area known as the Bosque, the officer immediately called for help. The man was groaning in pain and asking for help with both of his hands nailed to a tree.

While awaiting paramedics, the cops tried to figure out how a man comes to be nailed to a tree in the United States of America. Hey, what happened man? Paramedics are on their way. OK? one officer said.

Once all of the first responders arrived, it took hours for 12 people to save Duran.

Duran initially refused to give the officer his name but finally gave a few details about how he ended up crucified in New Mexico. Duran alleges that two men were sent to threaten and scare him after he was involved in an ugly real estate deal, which he says is all laid out in the documents. He claims he was taken at gunpoint on a Monday morning and had his hands nailed to a tree, against his will, by two people he doesnt know.  Im scared because nobody believes me, Duran said.

But his hands show the trauma of the ordeal hes gone through.  Duran has no criminal background but authorities did find document relating to a long-standing real estate dispute that he had mentioned. He also took reporters to the tree he was nailed to and it has obvious holes in it.

He said it all started on that fateful Monday morning around 8 oclock while he was walking with a folder full of documents. He says Bosque walks are common for him but this time, he was approached by two men.  He (said, you dont) list...

Rubbing alcohol is extremely flammable and should always be kept away from an open flame. However, this makes it the perfect fire starter!

Just simply squirt very small amounts onto the wood and you will have no trouble getting a fire started in dry weather conditions. I suggest using matches and not an actual lighter as you can just throw the match into the wood pile. Using a lighter puts your hand way to close as it will light up immediately!

Michael Savage Warns: Civil War Could Break Out If Trump Is Removed From Office "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

riots1

Theres no doubt at this point that America probably hasnt been this divided along political lines since the Civil War. And that of course raises an obvious question. Does this mean that were on the brink of another civil war in this country?

So far it has appeared that if there is to be another civil war, it will likely be started by the Left. That has been made abundantly clear since Trump took office. The political fueled violence that weve seen on the streets of America this year has been initiated almost exclusively by the far left, and we hardly ever saw that kind of behavior from conservatives when the legislative and executive branches were run by liberals. Theyve clearly been the most aggressive and intolerant force in America for a long time, so they are the most likely to spark a war.

But the populist-right shouldnt be ruled out in this regard. Just because theyve been largely peaceful, doesnt mean their behavior wont turn on a dime under the right conditions. After all, everyone has a breaking point, and for them the most likely breaking point would be if Trump were forcibly removed from office by any means.

Conservative talk show host Micheal Savage recently offered a similar sentiment last week, when he spelled out how the deplorables who helped elect Trump would likely respond if the media and the political establishment managed to unjustly pull Trump out of the White House.

Referring to a 1939 novel, Savage told his listeners Friday that The Day of the Locust  will come and people will resort to mob violence when they are finally aware of the fact that theyve been tricked by their society, and that no matter how hard they work as middle class people they are denied.

That is whats going to happen in this country, Savage said. You have not yet seen mob violence in this country. Youve seen some mob violence instigated by George Soros mobs. But you havent seen the thing Im t...

This Military Surveillance Plane Has Been Circling Seattle For Weeks And Nobody Knows Why "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

cn-235

For the past two weeks the residents of Seattle have been witnessing a very strange occurrence. Day after day, a nondescript aircraft has been flying circles over their city, and the government hasnt fully explained why its in the area. Its been identified as a CN-235, and its only marking is an Air Force serial number. What we do know about the aircraft is that it is decked out with highly advanced surveillance equipment.

The heavily modified USAF CASA CN-235-300 transport aircraft was outfitted with elaborate information-gathering hardware, described in all of its apparent detail by the Drive. The aircrafts callsign is SPUD21, and was in the air as recently as Friday on one of its patrols. Its equipment includes microwave and ultra-high frequency satellite communications gear, as well as a multitude of cutting-edge sensors. It is unmarked, save for the USAF serial on its tail: 66042. SPUD21 flies its missions out of Boeing Field, operating via Clay Lacy Aviation, rather than Boeings military ramp.

According to The Drive, its equipped with tools that you wouldnt expect (or probably want) to find on a military aircraft circling a major US city.

Above all else, these types of surveillance systems are especially good at capturing and monitoring so called patterns of life over and around a target area. This is an especially useful tool when collecting intelligence on an enemy target or group of targets over time and can open up new possibilities when it comes to the  process of finding, fixing and finishing the enemy.

Though it has an Air Force...

What Happens When You Take A Firearm To NYC In Your Luggage? Fines And Jail Time "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

brooklyn-bridge-wikimedia

Most gun owners know that they can transport firearms in their luggage when they go on flights. All they have to do is follow the TSAs procedures. The gun must be unloaded, locked in a secure case, and declared when you check in. You can fly with ammunition as well under similar procedures.

However, what the TSA fails to mention is that in certain cities this can land you in jail. They mention on their website that passengers must comply with the laws concerning possession of firearms as they vary by local, state and international governments, but thats about it.

As John Stossel warned in a new video from Reason TV, carrying a firearms in your luggage while traveling to New York City can result in hefty fines and prison time. He interviews two individuals, Avi and Patricia, who had to pay $15,000 for this crime, one of whom was only guilty of carrying an empty pistol magazine.

But the most infuriating segment of this piece, was when Stossel went to interview district attorney Jack Ryan, who was responsible for charging these people. When asked about why Avi was charged for carrying an empty magazine, he deflected blame on the legislature for passing these laws.

Stossel: Its an empty piece of plastic!

Ryan: Whether the magazine is made out of plastic, kevlar, or metal, I think is immaterial to make a question of how many bullets it holds. Thats why New York has banned them.

Stossel: Isnt it whats material is whether it held any bullets? It didnt. It was empty.

Ryan: You can discuss that with the legislature. They didnt make it a crime only if theres bullets in it. They made it a crime.

And when asked why Patricia was charged for carrying her unloaded weapon and ammunition in the same piece of luggage, Stossel was told that its illegal to transport loaded firearms. See if you can wrap your head around this exchange.

Lets just say that the unthinkable becomes the real and happening.  Lets take this article and go over it.  This will be a segment in three parts, the next ones being immediate actions taken at work and at home.  Im hitting on traveling first, as there are so many vacationers jaunting around happily over the landscape.  All kidding aside, traffic is congested during the summer, extending traveling time on the commutes.  Lets game the scenario, and here it is.

Heres the scenario:

Youre cruising down the highway in your 2013 four-door sedan, having just dropped the kids off twenty minutes ago to the swim club.  Now youre on the open highway with a heavy traffic flowabout 5 miles from the edge of town and 7 miles from work.  Youre listening to the radio, when suddenly it crackles and goes dead, along with your engine.  You look around and pumping the brakes manage to slow down and then drive off the road onto the shoulder, just feet away from the back bumper of another vehicle.

The vehicle comes to a stop, and you try the ignition again.  You look at your watch, a Casio G-Shock, to find there is no display.  You reach for your cell phone.  Nothing.  Its dead.  There are perhaps a dozen cars around youhalf to your front and half to your rear.  All of them have stopped, and most of the drivers have gotten out.  You hear the sound of an engine, and looking up, see a 58 Ford pickup truck weaving in and out of the stalled traffic, moving toward your rear, away from town.  The book One Second After has just played out in real life.  The United States has been attacked by an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) weapon.  Youre 15 miles from home, and the S has hit the fan.

On Friday 7/29/17, North Korea just successfully tested an ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) and experts from four different countries including the U.S. have determined that they have the capability of striking the U.S. anywhere.  That means the optimal point for an EMP strike (dead center of the continental U.S., at 300 km above ground) is not only their prime target but also attainable.

Whats Happening In Venezuela Is A Microcosm Of The Socialist Cancer In Action "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Venezuela: Dictatorship, Collapse And Consequence
By Brandon Smith

If you want to outline the numerous failures of ideological and economic socialism, just name any socialist nation and you are sure to uncover an endless supply of examples. In fact, many countries where socialism is not total but making considerable inroads often suffer from severe decline the U.S. being one of them. Whatever socialism touches it destroys, because forced interdependency does not work. It is a broken concept with no large scale successes (this includes China, which suffers from considerable poverty and a totalitarian government despite it being the most successful garbage economy out of a host of other garbage economies). Yet, proponents of socialism keep trying again and again claiming that this time is different.

So ample have been socialisms failures in the past several years that socialists have resorted to a classic blame game in order to maintain the delusion. You see, when you bring up nations at the very end of the socialist cycle on the verge of extinction  nations like Venezuela, all you are going to hear is the argument that it was the evil western capitalists that sabotaged the experiment.

This is a fascinating journey into cognitive dissonance. Because in order to believe this nonsense, you have to first ignore the cold hard reality that socialist policies and politics have permeated every aspect of most western nations to the point that they can no longer be called free market societies. The fact is, IF sabotage of Venezuela can be proven as the cause of its economic ills rather than the inherent pitfalls of socialism, it would merely be a group of socialist nations sabotaging another socialist nation. Capitalism plays no part in this mess whatsoever.

In fact, it has been international banks like Goldman Sachs that continue to fund failed socialist projects like Venezuela through bond investment.  If anything, the banks have been artificially keeping the government afloat when it should be allowed to fail so that it can be...

Zippo lighter - extending fuel life "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This is more a different twist on an old topic, but I found the numbers interesting.

I like old stuff that works, so I carry a Zippo lighter. I have a routine of refueling it every Sunday. I tested just how long it would go from filling to failure to light, and it was 10 days. Fuel evaporation is the culprit, and somebody else had suggested a fat rubber band around the case to seal the fuel vapors in. That's great, but I didn't have any rubber bands that would fit. I had also noted...

The Ultimate Army Field Guide to Wild Edible Plants "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Editors note: Whether for survival purposes or the desire simply to be able to forage and live off the land, knowing how to find and identify wild edible plants is an incredibly valuable skill. One of the very best guidebooks for studying up on this skill is the 1969 edition of FM 21-76, the Armys field manual on Survival Evasion and Escape. The manual contains easy-to-understand descriptions and colorful, instructive illustrations for how to identify dozens of edible plants found in the wilds around the world, and even tips on how to cook them not only for safety, but tastiness. Weve recreated this rich resource below; take a look through from time to time and try to commit some of these to memory.

WILD PLANT FOOD

Experts estimate that about 300,000 classified plants grow on the earths surface, including many which grow on mountain tops and ocean floors. Of these, 120,000 varieties are edible. Obviously, it is not possible to learn about all of these plants from reading this manual. If you are stranded, can identify the plant, and know how to prepare it properly, you should derive enough food substance to keep you alive.

For study purposes and future use, this manual gives descriptions and pictures of certain edible plants that can be eaten. Become familiar with these pilot plants; they will enable you to evaluate the food possibilities of other plants of the same variety.

Do not limit your study to the illustrations and descriptions of plant food in this manual. Take every opportunity to see these plants in their natural habitat: then, if forced into a survival situation in any area of the world, you will know where the best plant food of a region is.

Plant food will sustain you, although it may not provide a balanced diet, even in the arctic where the heat producing qualities of meat are normally essential. Many plant foods like nuts and seeds will give enough protein for normal efficiency. Suitable plants provide calorie-giving carbohydrates.

It is generally safe to try wild plant food you see being eaten by birds and animals; however, you will find few plants of which every part is edible. Many have one or more...

How to Use Garden Produce to Bulk Up Your Prepper Pantry "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Many of you are undoubtedly beginning to harvest some veggies from the garden, and many of you generous samaritans are giving away extra stuff.  You may want to reconsider that for a time, and consider dehydrating your extra produce to add to your prepper pantry.

There are as many types of dehydrators as there are words on this page.  The most important thing you can do with your dehydrator (besides ensuring that it works) is to put it to work.  A dehydrator packed in the box with its instructions, safe on your shelf is not doing you any good.  In addition to this, there are a ton of plans for solar dehydrators all over the internet, and articles have been written about solar dehydrating in the past.

One of the rules of dehydrating and perhaps one of the biggest mistakes that people make is that they do not boil/parboil their vegetables before placing them in the dehydrator.  This accomplishes several things.  By parboiling the food, it makes it easier for the dehydrator to extract the fluid from it.  The act of immersion in the boiling water for a couple of minutes also kills any bugs that may have slipped through, and any damaging fungus or exterior plant woes.

If you have a standard, 4-tray dehydrator, you can rock and roll with that thing for about 8 hours and dry your veggies out just fine. Another thing you may want to consider is that when you dehydrate fruits and vegetables there is some nutrient loss, especially vitamin C, but it can easily be added back.  Now, there are plenty of packets out there for canners, and if you want the Uncle Caveman method, here it is.  Take a couple of thousand milligrams of Vitamin C tablets, and crush them up into a fine powder.  Yes, the mortar and pestle made from marble are excellent for this.  A hammer with a clean striking face will suffice as a backup.

After powdering your Vitamin C very fine, then take a good-sized bowl (glass, such as Pyrex is best, as you can see the mixture occurring and it will not trap any Vitamin C on the surface) and fill it halfway with water at room temperat...

The Many Uses of Borax "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Sodium tetraborate decahydrate, commonly known as borax, is a natural mineral made of sodium, boron, oxygen and water, and is a good thing to have in your storage. It has many uses in your home, and if kept in a dry location, the shelf life of borax is virtually unlimited.

Borax and pest control

  • Keep roaches, waterbugs, and ants away by sprinkling a combination of equal parts all-natural borax and sugar.
  • Keep the mice out by sprinkling borax on the floor along the wall.
  • Kill fleas by sprinkling borax on your carpet.  Leave it for an hour and vacuum it up thoroughly.
  • Combine cornmeal with borax. Pour into shallow dishes and place them in areas where pests are a problem.

General uses for borax

  • Make an all-purpose cleaner by mixing 2 tablespoons borax and 2 cups hot water in a spray bottle.
  • You can remove oxidation from metals with borax. The ingredient is also used as a flux in welding.
  • As a laundry detergent, add one cup of borax to each load and significantly boost your cleaning power.
  • Make your own dishwasher detergent by mixing 1 tablespoons borax and 1 tablespoons baking soda.
  • For removing urine odors from a mattress, wet the mattress rub in borax with a damp cloth. Let dry, then vacuum up the remaining residue.
  • Just 1/2 cup of borax poured down drains will help unclog them.
  • Pour 1 cup of borax into toilet bowls at night and in the morning, scrub bowl with a toilet brush.
  • A paste of water and borax can scrub away sticky residue from adhesives.

Borax for homemade candle wicks

This is an unusual application of borax but will help homemade candles produce less ash and smoke.

  • Dissolve 2 tbsp. table salt and 4 tbsp. borax in 1 1/2 c. warm water.
  • Soak a 1-foot length of regular cotton kite string or twine in the solution for 15 minutes.
  • Hang the string with a clothespin for five days to be sure it is completely dry.
  • Use a paper clip to dip the string in melted wax three or four times, coating it completely. Hang it up to dry as before.
  • Store wicks rolled up in a newspaper.

Is borax toxic?

The Latest Attempt To Win The Afghan War: Replace The Soldiers With Mercenaries "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

ar-15-soldier-militia

One of the most controversial aspects of the Iraq war was the heavy use of defense contractors, who were in many cases paid vast sums of money to do jobs that youd think an ordinary soldier could do. When it was all said and done, defense contractors had reaped $138 billion dollars by providing security, logistics, and construction services. Among the most notorious of these contractors was Blackwater, whose employees gained a reputation for reckless behavior that caused many unnecessary deaths.

Fast forward to today, and now Blackwaters founder, former Navy Seal Erik Prince, is pushing for a plan to win the war in Afghanistan by replacing the soldiers with defense contractors. Prince first suggested the plan last May in an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, where he described this idea in colonial terms. The private military units would be based on units that were deployed by the British East India Company, and would be lead by a single person who he referred to as an American Viceroy, that would report directly to the president.

As strange as it may sound, Trump appears to be taking the idea seriously. Its hard to blame him. Afghanistan is now Americas longest running war, and no matter how many soldiers, generals, aid, or money we throw at the country, nothing seems to bring stability.  Which is why this radical new plan probably looks very enticing to Trump right now.

Under his proposal, private advisers would work directly with Afghanistan combat battalions throughout the country, and the air force would be used for medical evacuation, fire support and ferrying troops.

Prince said the contractors would be adjuncts of the Afghan military and would wear that nations military uniforms. Pilots would only drop ordnance with Afghan government approval, he said.

Currently, troops from a U.S.-led coalition are stationed primarily at top level headquarters and are not embedded with conventional combat units in the field. Under the plan the contractors would be embedded with Afg...

Investor Warns Stock Market Is Like Yellowstone: Its Beautiful, But It Has A Volcano Underneath It "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Anyone putting money in the stock market at this point should have their head examined. The fact that the stock market has reached a record high for the ninth day in a row should be enough for any rational person to see that were in a bubble of massive proportions. But theres also the fact that all of the big players in the investment community are backing out of stocks like theres no tomorrow.

Sovereign wealth funds are pulling their money out of stock markets in developed countries, corporate insiders are selling stocks in their own companies, and infamous investment companies like Goldman Sachs are admitting that theres a 99% chance that the stock market wont keep rising like this in the near future. Berkshire Hathaway, the 7th largest company in the S&P 500, is sitting on a $100 billion dollar pile of cash that grows year after year, because as the stock market climbs to new heights, there arent many attractive investments left. You cant buy low and sell high when there are no lows, and that should say a lot about current state of the economy.

The latest damning report on the stock market comes from Barry James, the president of James Advantage Fund. In a recent interview with CNBC he compared the global market to Yellowstone National Park. Its beautiful, but it has a volcano underneath it.

15 Tips to Get Safely Home Following an EMP "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

15 Tips to Get Safely Home Following an EMP

Back to our scenario.  Most will be clueless and unprepared.  Lets do it up, down and dirty with the steps that you should take if you are Citizen X outlined in the scenario:

1. Have a plan already in place: That means to formulate one right now, f you havent...

Two Weeks From War: China And India Brace For Conflict Over Border Dispute "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

china-troops1

Its no secret that the mainstream media doesnt prioritize stories that are actually important. While everyones been talking about the latest celebrity breakup and whatever contrived controversy that has been stirred up against the president, most people are completely oblivious to the fact that a terrifying war is brewing in the heart of Asia.

In June, a decades old border dispute between India and China flared up, after Chinese soldiers attempted to build a road in the Doklam region of Bhutan, a remote and sparsely populated plateau that doesnt appear to have any strategic significance or resources. China responded in July by explicitly threatening war if India doesnt back off.

Since then those threats havent tapered off at all. If anything theyve escalated as the Global Times, a media mouthpiece for the Chinese government, continues to make jingoistic threats towards Indias border troops.

Over the past month, the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) has been on the move. We believe that the PLA has made sufficient preparation for military confrontation.

It is a war with an obvious result. The government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be aware of the PLAs overwhelming firepower and logistics. Indian border troops are no rival to PLA field forces. If a war spreads, the PLA is perfectly capable of annihilating all Indian troops in the border region.

And whats more worrisome, is that China has gone so far as to issue a timeline for India to withdraw its troops from the region. On Friday the Global Times issued the following report:

China urged India to immediately pull back the trespassing troops to the Indian side of the boundary and called on them to swiftly address the situation in a proper manner to restore peace and tranquility in the border region, Ren Guoqiang, a spokesperson for the defense ministry said in a statement posted on its website late Thursday night.

The series of remarks from the Chinese side wi...

That is, they believe that your mind and spirit have as much (or more) to do with whether or not you heal as the medicine does. To oversimplify the concept, you need to approach the entire process with positive energy, whether youre the healer or the patient.

There are, however, some practices that we can learn from Native Americans that are extremely practicable and logical to a person who is accustomed to Western medicine and thats what were going to discuss today.

Healing Arts To Learn From Native Americans

Cleanliness

We now know that disease thrives in filthy conditions. All of the major plagues, as well as influenza, small pox and all of the other catastrophic communicable diseases did the damage that they did because of poor hygiene. People were literally killed by their own filth. Native Americans didnt have this problem for a few reasons.

First, they didnt live in a manner that allowed them to become overpopulated. They also didnt throw their own filth and waste right outside the doors of their lodges where it could attract vermin or contaminate the water supply.

They bathed regularly, washed, and didnt expose themselves to outsiders who carried any kind of disease, at least not until they were forced to be exposed to Western diseases. The lesson? Keep your area and your body clean. Dont leave waste or refuse lying around and dont void your bowels or bladder near the water or food supply.

To take it a step further, dont get cozy with strangers. In a post-SHTF situation, youre going to need to be wary of others who may be dragging disease to your door. Whether you practice total avoidance, diligent hand washing and sanitation or quarantine, you need to have a plan in place to keep your area free of disease.

Shock Report: US Confirms North Korea Has ICBM-Ready Nuclear Warheads "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This report was originally published at ZeroHedge.com

icbm-nuclear

First thing this morning we reported that according to a 500-page report by the Japanese Defense Ministry, North Korea may now be in possession of a miniature nuclear warhead. That said, the report did not move the market because the Japanese report was largely inconclusive and did not claim with certainty that this is the case.

Now, moments ago, the exact same narrative escalated when the WaPo echoed what Japan said, only it now confirms that North Korea has successfully produced a miniaturized nuclear warhead that can fit inside its missiles, crossing a key threshold on the path to becoming a full-fledged nuclear power, U.S. intelligence officials have concluded in a confidential assessment.

As the WaPo adds, the analysis completed last month by the Defense Intelligence Agency comes on the heels of another intelligence assessment that sharply raises the official estimate for the total number of bombs in the communist countrys atomic arsenal.

The IC [intelligence community] assesses North Korea has produced nuclear weapons for ballistic missile delivery, to include delivery by ICBM-class missiles, the assessment states, in an excerpt read to The Washington Post. The assessments broad conclusions were verified by two U.S. officials familiar with the document. It is not yet known whether the reclusive regime has successfully tested the smaller design, although North Korean officially last year claimed to have done so.

Of course, another vivid instance of confirmation of weapons being present, not nuclear so much as of mass destruction is the following.

In any case, the U.S. calculated last month that up to 60 nuclear weapons are now controlled by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. So...

Benchmark wheat futures traded in Chicago jumped more than 30 percent from April 25 to July 5 as drought on the northern U.S. Plains ravaged spring varieties. 12 Water Safety Tips "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

12 WATER SAFETY TIPS

Keep her safe this summer

In warm weather, a lot of outdoor activities will include waterfront areas like the lake or beach. A dunk in the local water feature is refreshing, but puts many, especially children, at risk for injuries; of these, drowning is one of the most tragic.

Among those 14 years old and under, drowning is the second most common cause of injury-related death (car accidents are first). More than 800 kids die due to drowning mishaps every year, and thousands more sustain nonfatal injuries, sometimes involving significant brain damage.

WHAT PUTS YOU AT RISK FOR DROWNING

Keep an eye on the little ones at all times

There are a number of factors which increase the risk of drowning. They include:

Poor swimming ability: Simply put, if you cant swim, your chances of drowning increase.

Poor supervision: Drowning can happen relatively quickly and without a lot of noise. Even the presence of lifeguards may not save you on the beach, and unsupervised small children could die even in the bathtub.

Location: Although home swimming pools are the most likely places that young children drown, most adult drowning events occur in natural, boating, or wilderness settings.

Lack of Barriers: Pool fences that separate the pool from the yard reduces a childs risk of drowning by 83%.

Lack of Life Jackets: 88% of boating deaths by drowning involve people who werent wearing life vests.

Alcohol: The majority of deaths by drowning in adolescents and adults involve impaired judgment and coordination caused by drinking.

Seizure Disorders: Drowning, often in the bathtub, is the most common cause of death by injury for those with a seizure disorder (epileps...

Did A Novelist From The 1800s Warn Us In Advance That Donald Trump Would Be The Last President? "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The Economic Collapse Blog

trump-clock2

I am about to share with you one of the strangest things that I have come across in a very long time.  In the late 1800s, author Ingersoll Lockwood wrote a series of novels which appear to have striking parallels to events happening today.  In his first two novels, The Travels and Adventures of Little Baron Trump and His Wonderful Dog Bulgar and Baron Trumps Marvelous Underground Journey, an extremely wealthy little boy with a very active brain named Baron Trump is guided on a series of extraordinary adventures by a man known as Don.  And if you can believe it, little Baron Trumps adventures actually begin in Russia

For starters, the main characters name is the same as President Donald Trumps son, albeit spelt differently. Trumps adventures begin in Russia, and are guided thanks to directions provided by the master of all masters, a man named Don.

Before leaving for his voyage through the unknown, Trump is told of his familys motto: The pathway to glory is strewn with pitfalls and dangers.

Illustrations from the novels depict Trump dressed in lavish, old-fashioned clothing and jewelry as he departs from Castle Trump and begins his voyage, heading to Russia to locate an entrance into alternate dimensions.

That is strange, right?

Subsequently, Lockwood wrote another novel entitled The Last President in which the election of a very unpopular outsider candidate sparks huge mob riots by anarchists and socialists in New York City.  The following comes from the Daily Mail

The story opens in a New York City in turmoil. Its early November right after the election of an enormously opposed candidate.

The East Side of the city, which is where the Womens March began the day after Donald Trumps inauguration, is in a state of uproar.

I live in a small town in the Midwest, not on the outskirts but smack dab in the middle. There are about 5,000 people in my town, not a large town by any stretch of the imagination, but big enough for my tastes. A preppers mindset has to make a bit of a shift when living in town, versus a more rural area. Namely, your garden is smaller, you cant keep chickens and your ability to maintain a watchful perimeter is greatly diminished. These are all challenges that we need to...

Safety & Security: Level 1 Prepping & Preparedness "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Safety and Security may or may not become an issue for level-1 prepping & preparedness. You might look at this topic from two different perspectives. One is your general safety while going about your tasks and dealing with the issues at hand, and the other is your general personal security.   Safety The best way to ensure your safety during any disruption is to keep a level head. Use common sense and dont rush if you dont have to. Accidents tend to happen while stressed and not thinking clearly. Each emergency, disaster, or disruptive event will have its own circumstances.

Making Beef Jerky At Home "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Despite what you may see on television, in a survival scenario food is not your top priority. However, it is one of the pillars of survival. Eventually, you need to find food, and protein is king. Without consistent protein, your body starts to eat itself for energy.

As this happens, you lose strength, mental capacity, and coordination. So you take the time and effort to spear a hog in the wild, but now what? If you get a large source of protein, how do you preserve it? Without freezing, most people would watch their meat spoil and become ridden with maggots.

However, making beef jerky is a great way to preserve that meat in the wild.

Making Beef Jerky: How To Preserve Meat For Survival

Jerky is simply meat that has had all of the moisture drawn out of it. No matter how you make jerky understand that you are drying the meat, not cooking it. If you dry the meat properly and keep it in a cool, dry place, it will stay good for months. This is perfect for a survival scenario in which you need a preserved protein source that is easy to pack. Jerky can be made out of virtually any animal you might catch and kill. There are dozens of ways to season and flavor your jerky, so you can make a product perfect for your taste. In this article, I will cover how to make jerky in your home or in a survival scenario.

Preparation

Preparation | Making Beef Jerky In Your Home

To prepare your meat for drying, there are a few steps to take. The first is to trim down the meat. This means you must remove as much fat as possible. Then cut it into thin strips. If preparing in your home, a meat slicer is awesome for this. Otherwise, a knife will work fine. Your slices should be less than inch thick or they will not dry properly. This takes some practice and care, so take your time. From there you should pat the meat dry and add salt and spices...

Researchers Just Found Something Extraordinary In This Volcano "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This report from OilPrice.com is a paid advertorial

Right on the other side of the biggest lithium volcano in the world is even more lithium.

If an investor had gotten in on the north side of the volcano before it proved up its lithium reserves, and then watched prices suddenly skyrocket, theyd be multi-millionaires today.

Well, now we have that opportunity on the other side of the volcano, with one little known company.

And its right here that investors could find the biggest risk-reward play on the market today for a metal that is the driving force of demand for everything from batteries to electric vehicles and countless consumer electronics.

Welcome to Argentina, tens of thousands of years ago in the Pocitos salar basin, when a swamp turned into hot bubbles that over millennia became landand then mountains spewing fiery magma.

But this is how Mother Nature pays us back: Today, this is a vast salt flat with massive amounts of lithium.

volcano-lith-1

On one side of the volcano, ADY Resources has already proven up the massive lithium offerings, handing investors huge returnsbut this is a private company.

Its the other side of the volcano that were interested in.

Proving up the lithium on the south side of this volcano is a huge dealand thats exactly what Southern Lithium (TSX:SNL.V) is doing right now with its Cruz property.

And not only is this the mother of all lithium volcanos its also right in the middle of the Lithium Triangle of Argentina, Bolivia and Chilehome to the largest lithium resources on Earth.

Even better: The third largest producer comes from Argentina. Think infrastructure in place, political stability and massive brine-based potential. Its made Argentina the darling of the lithium boom for brilliant new entrants like Lithium-X and Millennialall targeting the Salta Province.

But theres only one actual producer, and thats ADY, north of the volcano. Since weve missed the boat on ADY, the best place to look is on the other side, where proving up reserves is the next major disruptive force on this scene.

This is a multi-billion-dollar asset that pr...

Australian City Council Halts Construction Of Synagogue Over Fears That ISIS Could Target It "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

synagogue

People living in the West have given up a lot to satisfy their governments concerns over terrorism. Here in the US for instance, our right to privacy in our homes, on our persons, and especially in our communications, has essentially died since 9/11. Everything we say on our phones or search on the internet is catalogued by the NSA without a warrant, we cant fly on an airplane without being groped and prodded by TSA agents, its now fairly common to be forced through police checkpoints many miles away from any border.

The US isnt alone in this regard. Across the board, every Western nation has sacrificed essential freedoms in the name of combating terrorism. The only difference is that unlike in the US, most Western nations have sacrificed more speech related freedoms rather than privacy (though all Westerners have lost both rights to some degree). This is especially true in Europe and Canada, where expressing right wing opinions or criticizing Islam is now considered a hate crime, and is believed to be an invitation for more terrorist attacks.

Australians however, seems to be close to losing their right to practice any religion they want. Thats what the Jewish community in Sydney learned recently when they tried to build a synagogue. Residents and city council members decided to not let the structure come to fruition because they feared it would invite terrorist attacks.

The temple was to be built in Bondi, a short walk from Australias famous Bondi Beach. But locals worried that the space would pose a security risk to nearby residents, motorists and pedestrians. As evidence of that threat, the council pointed to the synagogues own design, which included setback buildings and blast walls. They also said the design would have an unacceptable impact on the street and neighbourhood.

A number of residents agreed with the contentions and provided additional evidence against the development of the site, the council said in a statement.

And on top of that, the courts complained that the buildings design would only protect the worshipers inside.

But the court sided with the council. In its decision, the court explained that western countries are under threat from Daesh, also known as ISIS or ISIL, and that the potential o...

Still Think Our Elections Are Fair?: 11 California Counties Have More Registered Voters Than Voting Age Adults "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

deadvoters1

Most Americans truly believe that their election system is totally fair and above board. They scoff at the idea that our elections could be rigged (even though its happened before), as if we were some tyrannical third world country. Perhaps the only time they will consider the possibility is if it could have effected whoever they voted for. Right now there are plenty of Democrats who think Russia hacked our elections, but theyll laugh at Trumps accusation that illegal immigrants stole the popular vote from him (which is very likely).

The truth is that our elections are seriously compromised, and not by the Russians. The latest example of this fact comes from California, where it was recently discovered that there are 11 counties that have more registered voters than eligible voters. According to a press release from Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group that caught these discrepancies, some of the numbers are truly mind boggling.

In the letter, Judicial Watch noted that public records obtained on the Election Assistance Commissions 2016 Election Administration Voting Survey and through verbal accounts from various county agencies show 11 California counties have more registered voters than voting-age citizens: Imperial (102%), Lassen (102%), Los Angeles (112%), Monterey (104%), San Diego (138%), San Francisco (114%), San Mateo (111%), Santa Cruz (109%), Solano (111%), Stanislaus (102%), and Yolo (110%).

In the letter, Judicial Watch noted that Los Angeles County officials informed us that the total number of registered voters now stands at a number that is a whopping 144% of the total number of resident citizens of voting age.

Whats also surprising is that out of those 11 counties, 10 tend to vote for the Democratic party, which is pretty suspicious when you consider the percentage of counties that vote Democrat. Out of California...

Survival Skills Everyone Should Know And Be Able To Do "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

You can never really prepare yourself when SHTF. Take a look at some movies about how the world will end, and they can only tell you ONE THING: that no one is ever prepared for the aftermath. For example, the aftermath of a nuclear fall-out is living/surviving/thriving with radiated and uninhabitable terrain, radiated waters, and lack of food. The aftermath of a destroyed ozone layer is living our days in an underground shelter with a barren wasteland on top of us.

Survival Skills Help Us Survive. PERIOD.

Survival skills, like the ones that Im going to list below, have been around since God knows when. Even with the advent of modern technology, these survival skills proved time and time again that they are still important, essential, and relevant to outdoors enthusiasts, hunters, doomsday preppers, and even your average Joe and Jane.  No, buying the high end survival gear does not make you a survivalist, but learning these survival skills will.

Parents Of Mass Shooting Victim Sued Ammo Dealer Now They Face Bankruptcy "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

ar-15

2012 was a devastating year for gun rights in America. Together, the Aurora shooting and the Sandy Hook shooting galvanized the gun control movement, leading to the passing of a slew of unconstitutional firearm laws across the country. Amid the Lefts panic over privately owned assault weapons that were used in these incidents, was the tragic case of Lonnie and Sandy Phillips. They were the parents of a woman who was killed by James Holmes. They responded by suing the popular ammunition supplier known as Lucky Gunner, because the company had sold Holmes ammunition that was used in the attack.

From the beginning, it was obvious that their lawsuit would go nowhere. There was no legal basis for it, because Lucky Gunner had done nothing illegal. In fact, the 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act was put in place specifically to protect gun companies like Lucky Gunner from frivolous lawsuits like this. Simply put, gun companies cant be held liable for the criminal actions of their customers, no more than a cutlery company can be sued by the victims of knife attacks.

So its no surprise that their case was recently thrown out by the courts. But not only was it thrown out, the couple has been ordered to pay Lucky Gunners $200,000 legal fees.

Sadly for Phillips and her husband, by acting on the Brady Campaigns advice to file suit against the store, they have seriously damaged their own finances. After they sold their home and belongings in Texas to attend Holmess trial in Colorado and then to travel around the country in a camper to advocate more gun control their frivolous lawsuit finished them off. In throwing out the case, the judge ordered the family to pay Lucky Gunners legal fees which totaled more than $200,000. Harsh as it may sound, this was fair and correct decision considering the underlying facts and the lack of any substance in the case.

Of course, you can probably expect the Leftists to jump on this case, and whine about how a wildly successful company is bankrupting a poor couple who challenged them in court after losing their daughter. But its important to keep in mind that not only does Lucky Gunner have the right to that money, they would be stupid to let it go. If they absorbed those legal fees, what message would it send? That anyone anyone could sue them for any silly reason, and not suffer any financial consequences. They would be inviting pointless lawsuits from gun control activists who wish to hurt the company.

The Globalist Agenda Is Being Met: To Collapse The United States Internally And Attack It Externally "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

An elected legislature can trample a mans rights as easily as a king.

Mel Gibson as Benjamin Martin, in The Patriot

The rights of the American people have been, and are being trampled into the dust, as the pseudo-representatives glut themselves from the trough of lobbyists and oligarchs alike.  It could be proven, but wont be proven: the investigating authority is not accountable to the people and there is no oversight.  The FBI, and any investigations under special counsel?  Look at Fast and Furious and how the Attorney Generals office covered that one up.  What is needed to prove it?  Something that doesnt exist.  Here is what is needed:

A team of spotless individuals with a leader of unquestionable character and servicewith complete authority and impunity: unable to be hindered by any federal, state, or local police and army of authorities.  This Special Investigative Team would have the power to investigate fully any and all ties to Congressmen, Senators, and Supreme Court judgesto find evidence of bribery, kickbacks, and influence peddlingand then arrest them and bring them to trial.

Everyone can jump up and down, desiring to boil in oil anyone making such a suggestion; however, without some kind of accountability, these elected officials are running rampant and trampling the rights of the citizens.  Who is going to stop it?  The courts?  The courts are the biggest pack of crooks of all.  Yes, Your Honor, and The Honorable, ad infinitum.

I guarantee that a Special Investigator with impunity would have found plenty of coral snakes under Chief (in)Justice John Roberts front porchif Obama and Holder had been made to step aside and an investigation had been done.  This should have been done after he cast his deciding vote on Obamacare.  Going back a few years, Obamacare would have never made it to the floor of the Senate if Olympia Snow (R, ME) had not allowed it to come up for a vote.  Who paid her off?

In order to follow the money, you have to be allowed to follow it: or youll just end up arrested or dead.

The special unit of investigators I suggested?  They need to be armed to the teeth, and they need giant, shiny badges that every human in the Western Hemisphere will recognize.  And why not?  It worked for E...

This One Simple Strategy Will Make You a Better Prepper "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

a better prepper

Many preppers and survivalists that I have known reach a level of arrogance, sooner or later. They have all their preps in place, they know multiple survival skills, and have a solid foundation of knowledge from everything from trapping small game to canning venison. However, if theres one thing I know about any crisis scenario, its that they are 100% unpredictable. The very event you thought you were completely prepared for can go sideways in a moment, with your best laid plans in shambles.

Maybe its time for a new strategy with your prepping, one that goes beyond what the prepper pundits teach. What if you purposely put yourself in situations where you might not have all the right survival gear or there are unexpected twists that require quick thinking and adaptation. Heres what I have in mind:

Become a better prepper by making things hard for yourself. On purpose.

Bugging out

We all have well-equipped bug out bags and intricately detailed plans for getting out of Dodge, but what if you purposely made a bug out drill far more difficult by driving a route at night, in the rain or fog, with the recording of your screamng 2 year-old in the background?

Think that might put some hair on your chest? For sure, you would have to focus with an intensity that isnt called for on a sunny day, with temps in the low to mid-70s, but how likely is it that youll have those ideal conditions when the S really does hit the fan?

How about driving that route until approaching a choke point, such as a bridge or the entrance to a tunnel, and quickly make a detour, as though that point was a roadblock? Is that a realistic scenario? Yep, so why not create the scenario for yourself now, rather than simply making a mental note that roadblocks, man-made or not, could happen on the way to your bug out location?

Any difficulty you can set up to thwart your carefully laid bug out plans will serve you well by testing your ability to think, accept, and adapt to abrupt changes in circumstances.

How To Protect The Edges of Your Knives and Tools! "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

By James Ballou

If youre like me you always seem to have more sharp tools around the house than proper fitting protective covers for them. A large number of the bargain knives I routinely find at yard sales and flea markets are purchased without sheaths, and other common cutting tools like scissors and chisels rarely wear point or edge protectors, anyway. Even so, I always feel better when my sharp tools have their blades or bits protected one way or another, so I usually end up fashioning something suitable for this purpose.

Heres What Burglars Will Tell You About Protecting Your Home From Thieves "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Id wager that no one leaves their home without being at least somewhat concerned about the belongings that they leave behind. Contained within most homes, is the sum total of the owners life, and not just in a material sense. There are plenty of items with sentimental value as well. And all of it is typically protected by little more than a few locks on the doors and windows. If someone really wants to break into your home and steal what you own when youre not around, chances are that there isnt much standing in their way.

But if you want to make it harder for any would-be burglar to enter your home, or at least make your home a less desirable target, dont just buy an alarm system and call it day. You should really listen to people who are burglars and take their advice. An MSNBC affiliate out of Atlanta recently did just that. They sent letters to 86 people who had gone to prison for burglary and asked them a variety questions about their crimes. Their answers could tell you a lot about how to protect your home from this crime. What they told reporters included the following:

  • Dont advertise what you own. One burglar admitted to looking for homes that had cars with NRA bumper stickers, which would indicate that there are plenty of guns to steal there.
  • Burglars dont just look in obvious places. If they feel safe, theyll tear everything up looking for hidden valuables.
  • The best time to break into a house was between 12:30 and 2:30, because its rare for both kids or adults to be home at that time period.
  • Not all burglars are intimidated by security alarm signs and cameras, and many admitted to knowing how to disable alarms. Some suggested that cameras would indicate that there are valuables in the home.
  • As you might expect, burglars are terrified of large dog breeds.
  • Burglars arent typically killers. They dont want to a serious confrontation with a homeowner, so any sign that someone is home is a deterrent.

When asked what precautions homeowners should take to keep their homes from being burglarized, most of the inmates gave similar answers. For instance, many of them suggested that homeowners leave some sign that someone is home, such as parking a car in the driveway or leaving a TV or radio on.

But the biggest deterrent is visibility, and that applies in more than one sense. They suggested that you keep your bushes and trees trimmed so that your home is easy to see. Homes that were isolated, either by the dis...

Should you sell all of your gold and silver to go All-In on Bitcoin and Ethereum? "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

crypto-currencies1

The crypto currency sector has been on a meteoric rise in recent years, with some coins seeing gains of thousands of percentage points for early investors. With interest building and new platforms for novice users that make it easier to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum and other blockchain currencies, U.S. Gold Corp CEO Edward Karr says there may still be big gains to be had.

In the following interview with SGT Report, Karr notes that just as is the case with precious metals, one of the fundamental reasons behind the crypto coin boom is that investors have lost confidence in their governments and economies. This has left them little choice but to flee traditional fiat currencies, which are literally being printed by central banks to the tune of trillions of currency units globally.

Like gold and silver, crypto-currencies offer a store of value, anonymity, and portability across borders. These core blockchain characteristics have enticed investors looking to keep their monetary activities private and increased their global demand as a crisis asset. And when that crisis does strike, what were seeing with the parabolic moves in Bitcoin and Ethereum, says Karr, will be replicated in precious metals assets, because the fundamental reasons behind shifting ones money into anonymous and portable crypto-coins are the same reasons for why contrarian investors have held gold and silver throughout history:

I think all these gains in the crypto currency space them going parabolic recently this is the canary in the coalmine of the gains that are going to come in the precious metals sector At the end of the day, when you look at gold and silver, precious metals have stood the test of time

One of the reasons these crypto currencies are going to the moon is that a lot of investors and mainly you have to look at the Chinese look at Venezuela when you are in economies where you know you are absolutely living in a Ponzi scheme debt bubble, you are willing to sell your Renminbi at any cost And you would rather have Bitcoin If you had Bitcoin and lived in Venezuela youd still have some purchasing power parity

If The Yellowstone Super Volcano Erupted, What Would Be Left? Massive Quake Swarm Prompts Question "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

The following article was originally published by Tyler Durden at ZeroHedge.com

Yellowstone volcano has been struck by 1,400 earthquakes in recent weeks, leading to fears that the supervolcano is ready to blow and wipe out life on Earth.

yellowstone-1400-0

Seismic activity around the Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, US, is not uncommon, but the heaviest swarm in half a decade has people very concerned.

Since June 12, The Express reports there has been over 1,400 tremors in the region, and experts state that the swarm could go on for another month.

yellowstone-1400-1

However, seismologists state that there is nothing to be concerned about yet. Jamie Farrell at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City told New Scientist:

This is a large swarm but it is not the largest swarm weve recorded in Yellowstone.

Earthquake swarms are fairly common in Yellowstone.

There is no indication that this swarm is related to magma moving through the shallow crust.

Neverthelesss, following Montanas biggest earthquake in 34 years, a 5.4 tremor in early June, which is on the same fault line as Yellowstone, and coupled with the swarm of quakes in the National Park, many are convinced that the supervolcano is now ready to blow.

One local wrote on Twitter: Earthquake in Bozeman = truly terrified Yellowstone volcano gonna go off.

So what would happen?

China Will Use Blockchain To Collect Taxes "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

CHINA-ECONOMY-RATE-BANK-FOREX

The Chinese government listed blockchain in its Thirteenth Five-Year National Informatization Plan from 2015, and since that time the nation has been working diligently toward the incorporation of the technology into daily life. China has just announced that it will use blockchain technology for social taxation and the issuing of electronic invoices.

The governments announcement that it will utilize blockchain technology for social taxation and electronic invoice issuance matters, has been met with silence from the mainstream media. China has already launched a test of its own cryptocurrency based on the technology, so these initiatives should be able to build on each other.  This will also be a large-scale test of a governments ability to collect taxes more efficiently, considering China has the biggest economy on earth.

Moving forward, experts claim that we will all see more and more innovative uses of blockchain technology as its potential is more fully realized. Transparency and security are both absolute essentials in a digital age, and China appears to be recognizing that need and putting this powerful tech to use through policy, enforcing theft through taxation.  But its unclear as of yet, just when China will begin using Blockchain to tax. Blockchain technology has been proposed for use in elections already due to its potential for both transparency and security. Its these features that make it appealing for taxation as well.

Furthermore, we should also see implementation at the city level in China, as several local and provincial governments have recently promulgated pro-blockchain policies. In fact, a smart cities initiative has alread...

Man Survived For Days In Arizona Desert On Beer And Crackers "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

arizonadesert

When Mick Ohman found himself standing on a road made of boulders staring at a trail of transmission fluid strung out behind his broken down SUV, he had no idea that hed be able to survive for days on just the beer and crackers he had in his car.  Ohmans harrowing tale of survival can be a lesson to the rest of us too if we simply care to take heed and prepare.

Ohman was several miles southwest of Crown King and all alone in the sweltering Arizona desert. He picked up his phone and talked, recording a message in a quivering and emotional voice.  It was a message that he hoped nobody would ever hear, If you find this phone and I didnt do so well, please tell my sisters how much I love them.  As sad as that message is, its speaker did come out and fight for his life.

Mick realizes now there were several little mistakes that led to the life threatening survival situation in the desert. I didnt tell anybody where I was going. I thought I was just going to Crown King to have lunch, said Mick. He also said trusting Google Maps was a bad idea. Google maps did show Mick that there was a road, but it did not detail the primitive conditions of the road.  That left the man driving alone on a road made of rocks with deep ruts.  After his lunch in Crown King, he tried to take his Honda CRV on the road picked up by Google Maps.

Mick Ohman shows a picture of his broken down car.

After the Honda broke down, Mick hiked for hours in hopes of finding a cell signal so he could call for help. But he had no luck. The hike to look for cell phone service in staggering heat had taken its toll, making him thirsty. Ive really never felt that thirsty b...

Professional Landscapers Vs. Do-it-Yourself Landscape "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

When planning a landscape project for your home you must consider whether it is a project you can complete or whether you need to hire a professional. Consider whether the area you plan to landscape is large or small.

If the area seems too large for you to tackle alone, you may want to consider hiring some professional help. If that is not an option, you could break the project up into smaller more manageable pieces and work on one at a time until the entire area is complete. Start with an overall plan for the yard or flower bed and then work on it in sections.

professional landscaping ideas

There are also more technical aspects to consider like drainage. If you do not understand how rain water drains in the area you are looking to landscape all your hard work could be washed away in one downpour.

Professional landscapers know how to measure these things and can install retaining walls or other features to prevent landscaping from washing out. These hardscapes may be beyond the capabilities of the average homeowner.

If you are determined to install the landscape yourself, you need to put time into researching the best plants for your environment and soil type. Also, consider the look you want to create with your landscape. You may prefer flowering plants and shrubs over evergreens. You may want a low maintenance landscape design because of your busy schedule.

Top 10 Reasons To Never Leave Home Without A Paracord Bracelet "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Paracord Bracelets: Are They Right For You?

I was first introduced to paracord (550 cord) as an active duty, United States Marine. Our gear was always dummy-corded using 550 cord. When we were out in the field, our go to cordage was always 550 cord. I immediately appreciated its durability but its multi purpose applications are what really impressed me about paracord.

Paracord was first used by the U.S. military in parachute suspension lines; hence the name paracord. It is enclosed in a nylon sheath with various, individual strands, making up its core. The Military-Spec Type III paracord is rated with a minimum breaking strength of 550lbs. Hence the nickname, 550 cord. Paracord is so versatile that it was even used by astronauts to repair the Hubble Space Telescope on one of its missions. Paracord is a favorite of our military community, but as of late, the survival community has greatly embraced the benefits of paracord.

When it comes to emergency preparedness, cordage is one of the top items on my list. Its a must when I need to build a shelter or even to lash some poles together for Dutch Oven cooking. The survival community understands this and has gone to paracord as their preferred cordage for when the SHTF. The integration of 550 cord into everyday items has been a staple for the past few years with those focused on being prepared.

There are dog leashes, rifle slings, belts, necklaces and even iPhone cases made from 550 cord. But the one item that tends to be the most popular, is the paracord bracelet. They have become so popular that most big box department stores carry (often times right at the checkout stand).

So What Makes A Paracord Bracelet Worth It?

First off, they actually pretty cool. They bring a bit of Military bling that a lot of people want to be associated with. You can add dog tags or even your company logo to these bracelets. Since they can easily be customized to appeal to diverse markets, paracord bracelets have gotten worldwide exposure. A custom 550 cord bracelet will go a long way in hel...

Its 52 degrees at sunrise this morning where I live, definitely not normal for the first of August. Is it a sign that its going to be an early fall and colder than normal winter like folks around here have said probably not, but one thing is certain and that is that its cool and I like it. The Four Most Effective Ways To Treat A Migraine "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

There arent many things in life that are more miserable and debilitating than a migraine. The nausea, light sensitivity, visual aberrations, and sharp searing head pains all come together to make a painful cocktail that can put you on your butt within a few hours, and leave you feeling spent for days.

Unfortunately, nobody really knows what causes migraines. Despite the fact that 12% of the population suffers from migraines on a regular basis, the scientific community has never been able to figure out an underlying cause. We know genetics plays a role, and that certain factors can trigger it like the food we consume, poor sleep, depression, and some medications. But we dont know what really causes it.

However, we do know many ways to treat a migraine, which include:

Applying heat or ice-packs to the head. Both might sound like they could increase the painful symptoms of a migraine, but they are effective. However, these methods dont work for everyone. Youll have to see what works best for you through trial and error, which could be said for any migraine treatment.

Consuming caffeine in small amounts has been known to alleviate the symptoms of a migraine. And more importantly, it works well with other medications. For whatever reason, when caffeine is consumed with either acetaminophen and aspirin, it drastically increases the pain relieving effects of those medications.

However, it should be noted that this doesnt work for everyone. For some people, caffeine can actually increase migraine symptoms, or increase the likelihood of having a migraine.

Certain teas can help a great deal. Just as certain foods and drinks can trigger a migraine, there are substances that have the opposite effect. Chamomile and green tea are known to alleviate migraine symptoms, as well as teas that include ginger or peppermint. Ginger, in particular, may be the most potent natural migraine treatment. One study found that ginger was just as effective as a common migraine treatment drug known as Sumatriptan, but had fewer side effects.

Reducing your exposure to light is probably the most intuitive migraine treatment. Migraines almost always cause a painful light sensitivity...

8 Basic Life-Saving Skills Everyone Should Know "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

Weve featured a ton of survival and MacGyver tips over the years that could help you out of a fix, but what if youre next to someone else whos having an emergency? Dont just stand there as the person chokes or faints! Know what to do in these life-or-death situations.

Before we start, the very first thing you should do is call for emergency help (or if someone else is around make sure they call 911). Then, while youre waiting, see what you can do to help the person. Also, make your safety a priority too. As flight attendants emphasize before takeoff, when the oxygen mask comes down, you have to secure yours firstotherwise youre of no use to anyone else.

With these things in mind, you dont need to be an Emergency Medical Technician or other health pro to possibly save someones life one day. Here are a few things to know.

How to Perform CPR

When you think life-saving skills, the first thing that probably comes to mind is CPR, the technique that could make all the difference for someone who has collapsed and is under cardiac arrest. Its always best to take a class, so you know the proper procedures and have practiced them beforehand, but even without official training you could save a life if no one else is around with more CPR experience. Solely watching a one-minute instruction video about CPR could make you a better life-saver.

Hands-only CPR can be done for anyone (except newborns) whose heart has stopped beating, according to the American Heart Association/Mayo Clinic. With this...

Forget Bezos & Gates: The Real Richest Man in the World Is Worth More than Both Combined "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This report was originally published by Claire Bernish at TheDailySheeple.com

putin-what

When the dubious Richest Man in the World title earned shock with Amazon head and Washington Post boss, Jeff Bezos, ousting Microsoft billionaire, Bill Gates, by a hairs breadth, its likely the voting delegate hadnt considered the one person who could handily best their net worths $90 billion and $89.8 billion, respectively combined.

Considering the return of the Red Scare of late, that the man worth an estimated $200 billion might be deleted from the worlds wealthiest shortlist, perhaps makes sense because hes no other than the President of Russia and hauntingly keen investor, himself, Vladimir Putin.

Bezos stunning empire, including a $600 million deal between Amazon and the CIA in 2013 notably, the same year the Amazon founder and CEO purchased the Washington Post certainly impresses as a personal fortune, by just about any measure.

But Putins doubles it.

I believe he is worth $200 billion, Bill Browder, CEO of Hermitage Capital Management, told the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, reports Newsweek.

And Browder should know, the report continues. The financier, whose company was once the largest portfolio investor in Russia, famously retained Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky to investigate corruption, and in 2008 the lawyer uncovered a $230 million tax fraud that implicated Russian o...

The Whole System Will Be Wiped Out Expert Warns of Financial Meltdown "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

The following article was originally published by Tess Pennington at ReadyNutrition.com.

Tess is the author of The Preppers Blueprint: A Step-By-Step Guide To Prepare For ANY Disaster

stock-crash-dynamite

For years there has been a lot of financial noise. While many of us are novices at understanding stocks and economics, one thing is for certain, things are not right. In fact, our economy has not been right since the governments rescue attempts of the too big to fail corporations and the housing bubble that peaked in 2008.

But how much longer can they prop up our financial system? Economic advisors such as Martin Armstrong, developer of the Economic Confidence Model, theorizes that boom-bust cycles occur once every 3,141 days, or 8.6 years (the number pi multiplied by 1000)

His charts warn of a global economic shift occurring where many trends will have reached their life cycle in 2017. If you have been following the stock market, you are well aware of the incredibly inflated stock market prices and over priced real estate markets.

There are strong parallels to this current market and that of the stock market crash of 1929. Stocks are overvalued and have shattered record highs in recent years and only seem to continue climbing. But, as history dictates, what goes up will come crashing down.

1929 stock market crash versus today
Market expert, Lynette Zang, Chief Market Strategist at ITMtrading.com recently gave grim predictions of what all of this means and warned that she has never seen a market as rigid as this market is. Shes been studying the market for so long she feels that the overly inflated market we are seeing are intentional and will pop.

So when will we see this financial crash? Zang states that in the next five yea...

This Is Not A Coincidence: These Events Are Perfectly Organized With Maximum Distraction "IndyWatch Feed Survival"

This article was originally published by Brandon Smith of Alt-Market.com

Geopolitical Tensions Are Designed To Distract The Public From Economic Decline
By Brandon Smith

Tracking geopolitical and fiscal developments over the past several years is a bit like watching a slow motion train wreck; you know exactly what the consequences of the events will be, you try to warn people as much as possible, but, ultimately, you cannot reverse the disaster. The disaster has for all intents and purposes already happened. What we are witnessing is the aftermath as a forgone conclusion.

This is why whenever someone asks me as an economic and political analyst when the collapse is going to happen, I have to shake my head in bewilderment. The collapse is here now. It is done. It is a historical fact. Its just that not many people have the eyes to see it yet, primarily because they are hyper-focused on all the wrong things.

For many centuries now, elitists in power have understood the value of geopolitical distraction as a tool for controlling the masses. If you examine the underlying motivations behind the majority of wars between nations regardless of the era, you will in most cases discover that the power brokers on both sides tend to be rather friendly with each other. In fact, monarchies and oligarchies are historically notorious for fabricating diplomatic tensions and conflicts in order to force populations back under their control.  That is to say, wars and other man-made conflicts give the citizenry something to react to, instead of hunting down the establishment cabal like they should.

One of the greatest illusions of human progress is the notion that most conflicts happen at random; that there are two sides and that those sides are fighting over ideological differences. In truth, most conflicts have nothing to do with ideological differences between governments and financial oligarchs. The REAL target of these conflicts is the people or, to be more precise, the psychology of the people. Conflicts are often engineered in order to affect a particular change within the minds of the masses or to distract them from other dangers or solutions.

These scenarios are taken a...

Survival Skills: 7 Tips To Safely Cross Creeks, Streams, Rivers, and Rapids

Whether youre camping out or bugging out on foot. One of the most dangerous and unpredictable things you can encounter is a body of water. Even if it looks easy, as little as 6 inches of fast flowing water can sweep you off your feet and put you in a serious situation.  If you can, find another way around, a natural bridge, or a natural narrowing of the water that you can hop across, or a wider section with a slower flow rate. But if going around isnt an option these 7 steps could just keep you out of harms way.
